Arts Society King and the King Heritage & Cultural Centre Present the 6th Annual All-Ages Writing Contest - Timeless Tales!
Explore the defining chapters of a lifetime - the ones we celebrate, the ones we endure, and the ones we remember as you share an original tale inspired by life’s greatest stories.
The newly re-opened 175-year-old King Christian Church, together with treasures from the King Heritage & Cultural Centre’s artifact and archival collections, are the inspiration for this year’s writing contest. This year storytellers will explore the theme The Cradle, The Altar, and The Grave milestones that shape a life.
We welcome submissions from writers living in York, Simcoe, and Peel Regions, in the following age categories:
- Grades 1-4 (Illustrations Welcome)
- Grades 5-8
- Grades 9-12
- Ages 18+
The best entry in each of the four categories will win $100, and all submissions will be considered for publication in our first ever digital anthology.
The contest is open to entries from March 23 - May 31. There is no entry fee.
