ARTSPACE KING - rentals for solo or group art exhibitions
Laskay Hall: Built in 1859 and moved to its current location at the King Heritage & Cultural Centre in 2017, Laskay Hall has hosted community events for over 150 years! The Hall has been modernized to be fully accessible and climate controlled, with a kitchen and washrooms, but retains its heritage charm - a perfect space for birthday parties, bridal and baby showers, and family gatherings! With a capacity of 80 and a stage, Laskay Hall is also a wonderful venue for workshops and speaker events.

East Gallery: Located in the main building of the King Heritage and Cultural Centre, the East Gallery space is a wonderful space to host a workshop or small gathering. Rentals in the East Gallery have kitchen and washroom access, as well as use of the outdoor patio space just off the East Gallery.

ARTSPACE KING is a new public art initiative, presented by the Township of King, that offers affordable rentals or free exhibition space for solo or group exhibitions in a welcoming environment in Township buildings.
At the King Heritage & Cultural Centre, the East Gallery is available for rentals. Rentals of the East Gallery are available on a minimum weekly basis, that includes 1 day for installation, 5 days of exhibition and 1 day for take-down. Longer rentals are subject to availability. ARTSPACE KING is available year-round but blackout dates may apply.
Rental space in the East Gallery of the King Heritage & Cultural Centre includes:
- art hanging system and gallery lighting
- use of individual, temporary walls (colour may vary)
- use of long, adjustable art wall (upon request)
- tables & chairs upon request (renters are responsible for set-up and table coverings)
- access to shared accessible washrooms and kitchenette
- wi-fi access
- social media template for marketing purposes
- cross-promotion of art exhibition on KHCC social media sites
Rental Rates:
$495 per week - regular rate (longer rentals may qualify for discounted rates)
$295 per week - members of Arts Society King/students/emerging artists*
Complimentary exhibition space is offered to Indigenous artists (please inquire)
*high school, college and university students; emerging artists age 18-30 years

Art exhibition space is available, in 6-7 week blocks of time, to local artists at the King Township Municipal Centre by application to the King Heritage & Cultural Centre. The exhibition space can accomodate 8-30 pieces of artwork depending on size and layout.
There is no cost for this exhibition space but artists are responsible for layout, assisting with installation and all art sales. Inquiries for 2027 are now being accepted. Artists must be residents of King Township and/or members of Arts Society King.

A small art exhibition space is available, in 8-12 week blocks of time, to local artists at the Zancor Centre, by application to the King Heritage & Cultural Centre. Art space is located behind the front desk and can accomodate 1-3 artworks depending on size.
There is no cost for this exhibition space but artists are responsible for delivering artwork to Zancor Centre and any art sales.
Inquiries for 2026 are now being accepted. Artists must be residents of King Township and/or members of Arts Society King.
